Original author description:
This model shows a collection of four different gems and stones: there are two gems and two stones. The two gems are sulfur and iodine, and the two stones are fool's gold and cobalt. Sulfur is a yellow crystal. Sulfur compounds smell like rotten eggs and are responsible for garlic's scent It is heat-sensitive and brittle; holding it in your hand will cause it to break Iodine is an essential mineral for your body and is deep purple. When warmed, it will instantly vaporize, skipping the liquid state to turn into a deep purple gas. Fool's Gold, or pyrite, is an iron-sulfur mixture giving a signature yellow appearance. It grows in geometric clumps and is almost always found growing off of another stone. Unlike gold, it is geometric but found in the same place. Soaking it in water creates sulfuric acid, highly corrosive to human skin Cobalt is a bright blue stone or crystal depending on how it forms and is cut. It is responsible for early cobalt blues and gives modern Cobalt blue paint and pencil dyes their name
