Approval queue and sectional moderators

Hello,

Is there any way to make items in the approval queue hidden for moderators unless they moderate that section?

We get a lot of moderated items sent to specific nodes on our site, and moderators of other nodes find this inconvenient since it makes it hard to notice items that need to be approved/rejected within their own nodes. If not, is there at least a way to make the red unapproved bubble show as gray, unless there is an item in the queue that is within a node they moderate...
