A fresh trailer teasing the inaugural Bruce Lee anime venture was unveiled just last Friday. The project, named "House of Lee," stands as a new anime initiative marking the 50th anniversary of the iconic martial arts masterpiece, "Enter the Dragon." Shannon Lee, Bruce Lee's daughter, took the stage to announce this remarkable undertaking. The collaboration behind this project involves Bruce Lee Entertainment, the Shibuya content platform, and its co-founder, Emily Yang.

In excess of 650 theaters across the United States are set to host 4K resolution screenings of the revered classic film on Sunday, August 13, and Wednesday, August 16. Notably, the screening event will also feature the trailer for "House of Lee." As anticipated, "House of Lee" is slated for release in 2024.

Drawing inspiration from personal anecdotes, Shannon Lee fashioned the narrative for "House of Lee." Recognizing the manifold possibilities that anime offers across realms of action, culture, fantasy, and history, she saw this medium as a unique platform for storytelling. The aspiration to utilize animation to its fullest potential in narrating this action-packed fantasy has been a longstanding vision of Bruce Lee Entertainment. In "House of Lee," Bruce Lee is envisioned as the central figure, leading a team of warriors against an encroaching darkness.

This independent project, "House of Lee," has been collaboratively brought to life by Bruce Lee Entertainment and Shibuya. Their innovative community campaign sought support for the production. The decision to partner with Shibuya was fueled by Shannon Lee's admiration for their creation, the White Rabbit anime short film. This particular film was co-crafted by Emily Yang, a co-founder of Shibuya.

The introduction to White Rabbit came via Dennis Chang, a managing partner at Bruce Lee LLC. Shannon Lee lauded the Shibuya team's creativity and dedication, emphasizing the authentic and organic nature of their collaboration as a testament to its immense potential.

Emily Yang found herself deeply inspired by the storyline, which delves into themes such as spirituality, internal conflict, and the lived experiences of the AAPI community. The 50th-anniversary screenings of "Enter the Dragon" will also feature insights from film historian Leonard Maltin. Additionally, there will be an exploration into the film's lasting legacy as Hollywood's pioneering kung-fu movie and its profound influence on the martial arts genre across diverse mediums.
